Where did summer go?
Well, last time I posted on this blog, I was complaining about the wet, miserable spring weather. After all the complaining, this summer turned into one of the best! Bonny was checking out some flights to see if she could visit one or both of her sons that way. She had asked if I would drive to California with her to see her two grandsons, Luke and Conway, and Jon and Carrie. They live in Seal Beach California. In her quick check into flights
Working from Home
Working from home has its challenges. Here is a visual that really hits home. The advice on the bottom provides some structure for me to consider.
I Am Enough
This speaker was introduced to me in a Group Strategy session. What she says in this clip resonates deeply with me.
There are other Brené Brown videos on Ted Talks that I find very insightful, as well. Take some time the hear her message, "I am enough" and let others know you in a deep, vulnerable way.

What are the lessons I need to deeply, wholly personal way?
12:21 PM
What are the lessons that I need to learn- not head learn because I have done a great amount of head learning. I can tell you the basics of the lifestyles program that the Cardston Clinic.
How do I move that to the heart, soul, and body? Elder Robert Hales said something about loving others and, mostly loving yourself. This does not mean some kind of hedonistic attempt to find happiness. I think that it means understanding that the way to best do what is important to me is to have a healthy body, nourished spirit, and keen mind. In order to do this. I need to put myself first.
For whom do I need to do the work? For myself! When I make good choices to nourish myself in many ways. I think of the fate of Sisyphus and compare his journey with the stone to my goal of losing weight and becoming as healthy as I am capable of being.
Homer is said to have described the fate of Sisyphus as:
"And I saw Sisyphus at his endless task raising his prodigious stone with both his hands. With hands and feet he tried to roll it up to the top of the hill, but always, just before he could roll it over on to the other side, its weight would be too much for him, and the pitiless stone would come thundering down again on to the plain."
I get to a point where I have had some success at Lifestyles, and then the stone becomes too heavy to continue on its path. This takes me back to the question asked in the first sentence. What are the lessons that I need to learn in the deepest, heartfelt, whole body way?
Let me consider the supports that Lifestyles offers. We are allowed to meet regularly with a very knowledgeable, compassionate nurse who offers us to have personal accountability. There is a connection with the doctors who look at our a wide variety of tests and see if the numbers are improving as we become closer to our weight goals. We are asked to follow some very healthy eating guidelines. Keep a food journal which can be expanded further as we learn about why we eat when we are not hungry or otherwise sabotage our own progress. We are asked to walk at least 30 minutes a day and find other ways to strengthen our bodies.
Every Thursday morning there is a Strategy Group lead by Chris Sunderland and Lynda Tolman. We learn about management and support each other in both celebrations or failures. Chris says, "The proof is in the pudding."
I am failing. Why? What lessons do I need to learn?

Where is spring? We have had 2 nice days in the last few weeks. I want to go camping! Or, well, l would like to at least try taking the Little Guy somewhere close for a first trial run this spring. I guess I still could if rain and wind appeal to me.
